Salma Jadavji was born and raised in Pakistan and currently lives in Calgary, where she has been an active leader within her community since 1990. She is a self-taught multimedia artist of 30 years. Salma is best known for her Arabic calligraphic and Islamic paintings, but enjoys working with all mediums. Her inspiration comes from travelling and taking photographs, and she has a passion for helping and uplifting others through her art.
She enjoys volunteering with various organizations, and distributes the proceeds from her exhibitions amongst different organizations where she has showcased her art, such as the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, the Alberta Cancer Foundation (Tom Baker Cancer Centre), the Aga Khan Foundation (exhibition at Devonian Gardens, Calgary), and others in Pakistan. Over the last ten years, she has also been the host of a radio show called “Salaam Namaste” in Calgary.
