Indus Blues: the Forgotten Music of Pakistan
Indus Blues: the Forgotten Music of Pakistan
In Pakistan, a country riddled with political turmoil, economic challenges, and social identity crisis, folk and classical musicians, as well as instrument craftsmen, struggle to survive and sustain their art. Indus Blues takes its audience on a journey through a stunning landscape, from the northern Karakoram mountains to the southern coast, following the ancient sounds of rare instruments in the hands of perhaps their last remaining maestros.
Join us at the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver on February 8, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. for the screening of “Indus Blues: The forgotten Music of Pakistan”. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Pakistani musicians who will share their own, comparable experiences.
