With influences ranging from RnB and Motown to Sufi and Bollywood music, Cimone sets herself apart from other contemporary artists.
Cimone grew up in a very musical household, picking up singing and piano at a tender age. Her father, Firdaus Rajan, was a well-known artist in the Ismaili community, releasing geets and ghazals as both a solo artist and part of the group, “The Rajans”. Having seen Cimone’s talent from a young age, he introduced her to a wide variety of genres of music and began scouting for performances for her to participate in, while also bringing her onstage with him from time to time. Inspired by these endeavours, she began writing her own music when she was 12 years old.
Cimone released her original, ”Thank You”, for the Diamond Jubilee year, and made it to nationals with the song in the Jubilee Arts Festival. She was able to perform at the Four Seasons Performance Centre in Toronto, as well as in Lisbon, Portugal for the festival pop-up performances. Her smooth sound led her to perform for Yvette Noel-Shure, publicist for Beyoncé and former publicist for John Legend and Prince, in Valencia, Spain for the Women In Music Spring Mixer. In her senior year at Berklee College of Music, she performed with the Berklee Indian Ensemble, and had her own show, "Live at The Loft: Cimone,” in Boston, MA in August 2019, soon after graduating. She recently released "Heal A Heart", a song co-written with Zaheed Damani, dedicated to volunteers, social workers, and healthcare workers assisting with the COVID-19 pandemic. She also participated in the global “Eid Shukrana Concert” as a solo performer.
Cimone is currently teaching vocal and songwriting lessons for Pogue Entertainment Group based in Dallas, TX, and for Brian Farrell Corps based in Calgary, AB. Additionally, she has worked as a songwriter and pop music top-liner with Jose Manuel Moles Music in Valencia, Spain, and at Drive 35 Studios in Dallas, TX.
Cimone is currently working on her debut album Extended Play, with her first single scheduled for release in the New Year, a sound more in tune with her RnB roots.
