SheLeads: Rukhsar Ali

Rukhsar Ali's dedication and passion for her work and commitments certainly sets her apart. She does not allow challenges to limit her, and continues to persevere at all cost. She sees challenges as opportunities; as mountains where the journey is even more beautiful than merely reaching the summit.

Rukhsar presided over the Calgary Ismaili Students' Association during 2018-2019. She pushed her team to new heights, challenging them to think outside of the box. As a leader, she treated everyone that she encountered with dignity and respect, empathizing with their situations and acting as a mentor to help them become the best versions of themselves. At every meeting and event, she created a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that supported even the most reserved students. She approached conflicts with compassion and professionalism.

Currently, Rukhsar is a member of the Aga Khan Education Board for the Prairies. She has already accomplished much in this role, and will continue to reach newer heights. Regardless of the situation she is placed in, she maintains the Islamic values of humility, pluralism, respect, kindness, critical thinking, and generosity. Rukhsar upholds the highest standard of best practice in every aspect of her life.
