Shirzaan Gaidhar, a creative, smart, and caring person who constantly pushes herself and others to always do their best. With a positive attitude, she challenges herself to learn from her experiences and grow from them.

Not only has she positively impacted those around her, she is also a leader in both her profession and in the community. She is one of the few women who work in the construction industry, where she excels and thrives.

She has won multiple awards for her work in interior design within the homes. She also sits on the foundation committee of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD). Shirzaan is continuously innovating and encourages other women to pursue the industry. She has overcome various stereotypes making her a strong and determined woman. Currently, she has been nominated for the Mount Royal alumni award, the Women of Influence Award, as well as being part of the Calgary Police Commission.

Shirzaan sponsors the Integrated School Support Program (ISSP), an initiative that was first spearheaded by the Calgary Police Service, and helps fund two schools under the program. ISSP is designed to address a variety of needs within the school and the community. With her help, the ISSP has continued to reach more children and strengthen their academic journey.

In addition to working with the Calgary Police Foundation, Shirzaan and her husband donate to the Aga Khan Foundation. Every year, they organize the Raindrop Gala to raise money and awareness for global poverty where 100% of all proceeds are donated to AKF. In the past five years the gala has attracted over 550 guests per year and raised over $200 000.

Shirzaan loves to travel, and visiting developing countries motivated her to make a difference in the lives of those who live there. She does this through her outlook, her actions, and by helping others. She always has a smile on her face and recognizes the importance of gratitude and generosity. Shen is an inspiration and positively influences everyone she meets.
