Life After High School: What's Your Path?

Description

Take part in this interactive session to help you prepare for a successful academic journey after high school. Learn about tools and resources to help you with the application process to post-secondary institutions, including how to navigate and use MyBlueprint.

Through breakout sessions, you will get an opportunity to discuss tips and tricks about life after high school, and speak with representatives from Ismaili Student Associations, the Youth and Sports Board, and the Education Board.

Anushka Jaffer is the Post-Secondary Deputy Member for the Aga Khan Education Board for Canada. She holds a M.Sc. in Health Research Methodology and a B.Sc.H in Life Science, both from McMaster University. 

Anushka started her career as a Clinical Research Assistant with the McMaster Centre for Transfusion Research where she worked on a number of initiatives including designing data collection forms, conducting patient study visits for clinical trials, drafting standard operating procedures, and drafting scientific papers and reports. She has co-authored a number of publications, and as the first author on several papers.

Anushka shifted her career focus to data analytics and critical care. As a Senior Business Analyst with Critical Care Services, Ontario, she plays a role in identifying critical care system needs and collaborates with healthcare partners to improve access, quality and integration for patients. Anushka has been spending the pandemic closely tracking and enabling bed capacity in the Critical Care Information System.

Outside of work, you will find Anushka actively involved in the community, and in her free time she enjoys hot yoga, hiking, and baking up a storm!

Khadija Jetta is the Member for Post-Secondary on the Aga Khan Education Board for Edmonton.

She has worked at the University of Alberta in international student recruitment for 8 years, with a focus on the Middle East and Africa.

She has traveled to 20 plus countries on behalf of University of Alberta and has been recruiting actively from Aga Khan schools across the globe. She previously worked with graduate sponsored students and exchange students and taught high school English in Okinawa, Japan.

She is a proud alumna of the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Linguistics.

She is fluent in six languages, enjoys travel, history, archaeology, good coffee, karaoke and competitive dragon boat racing. Khadija is passionate about sharing her knowledge of Canadian post-secondary education with the Jamat.
