AKEB PACE 2021-2022

Thank you for your interest in PACE.

PACE is a hybrid program designed for your child's success. The program consists of a weekly group sessions focused on building and reinforcing your child's foundational math and language skills. Additionally, your child will receive one-on-one homework help 1-2 times a week to ensure they are confident and secure in their schoolwork.

The success of this program relies on your child attending all the sessions regularly. By registering for PACE, you are agreeing to support your child's consistent participation in both the homework help and foundational concept classes.

There is a fee of $100 per child to participate in PACE.  Subsidies are available for those who require it. For more information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why does the program require my child attend the weekday and weekend sessions?

The goal of the PACE program is to build a sense of confidence and autonomy, not only in the academic skills, but in the student themselves as they approach all their endeavours. The PACE program is grounded in research which shows the benefits of multiple touchpoints in achieving this goal. In order for your child to get the full benefit of the program, it is vital that they remain immersed in the learning environment by attending all the different sessions.

2. Why does the form say that the PACE program costs $100 per student?

The $100 per student fee is used in order to help support the costs of running the program, including purchasing workbooks, IXL and RazKids licences, resource materials and handouts, holding trainings and professional development for facilitators. The student fee does not fully cover the costs of the program and JSF (Jamati Services Fund) is used to cover the shortfall.

3. What is the procedure if a family would like to request subsidy support?

Subsidy support can be requested online on your registration form or through a variety of individuals – your Academic Enrichment Member or Education Board Chairman. Every request for subsidy is handled with utmost regard for confidentiality. Please speak with your local PACE administration team for more information.

4. Can I register multiple children at once?

Yes, the online registration form will ask if you have another child to register. You may register up to 2 of your own children on a single form. If you have more than 2 children to register, please complete a second registration form.

5. How can I pay the fee?

Your regional PACE team will inform you of your child’s admission to the program. In that email, you will receive the link to pay the fee online.
