Temporary Suspension of Jamatkhana Ceremonies in Ontario

In response to the province-wide stay-at-home order announced today by the Government of Ontario, ceremonies at all Jamatkhanas that are currently open under the jurisdiction of the Council for Ontario will be temporarily suspended after evening ceremonies on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, until further notice.

The following Jamatkhanas will be impacted:

•Barrie

•Belleville

•Brantford

•Guelph

•Halton

•Hamilton

•Kitchener

•London

•Niagara Falls

•Oshawa

•Pickering

•Richmond Hill

•St. Thomas

•Sudbury

•Unionville

•Windsor

Please note that this suspension applies to all morning, evening and weekend ceremonies - with no exceptions.

We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with our public health professionals, to keep the Jamat informed of any new developments. 

For regular and important updates, please continue to check the Al-Akhbar, the iiCanada app, and the regional Facebook and Instagram pages. Members of the Jamat are reminded only to use official sources of information and to avoid circulating messages from private sources on WhatsApp or other digital media.
