BC: Volunteers Needed for the Future Ready Initiative
The Future Ready Initiative (FRI) is an institutional response to urgent changes facing the Jamat in Canada, and those with whom the Jamat lives.
FRI responds to four interrelated needs within the Jamat:
- Family mentorship
- Future of Work
- Mental health
- Youth mentorship and leadership development
Volunteers are needed for two types of roles:
Family Mentors who will offer one-on-one support to help build a family development plan and identify access to resources. Family Mentors will work with individuals or families facing roadblocks to connecting or receiving the necessary support.
Family Navigators (professionals such as physicians, nurses, psychologists, etc) who will work with Family Mentors to conduct comprehensive assessments and build family developments to address specific needs and goals for individuals and families.
For more information, please contact the Council for British Columbia's Member for Family Mentorship Farzana Kherani.
