FOCUSSTAR Fundraising and Awareness Campaign 2021

Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS) launches its virtual 2021 FOCUSSTAR Fundraising and Awareness Campaign for a duration of six-weeks, ending Monday, August 16.

Throughout the Campaign, you will learn more about the initiatives FOCUS contributes to in the three key areas of Preparedness, Relief, and Resilience – benefiting our community here at home and across the world – in South and Central Asia, Turkey, Syria, and Europe.

Here are some of the ways your donations to FOCUS Canada has helped the Jamat most in need: 

• Humanitarian assistance to the Jamats around the world that have been impacted by COVID-19, including the Jamat in Syria whose needs are further exacerbated by the on-going war and dire economic conditions.
• Resettlement support to some 10,000 Murids who have made their way to Western Europe from Syria and Afghanistan and resiliency and capacity building programmes for the Jamat temporarily residing in transit countries like Turkey, India, and Tajikistan.
• Supporting the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat which works at keeping the Jamat living in over 2,000 settlements in South/Central Asia safe from the effects of Natural Disasters.

This year, FOCUS Canada will also be supporting the Future Ready Initiative, which is the Council for Canada’s integrated, institutional COVID-19 response to the significant, urgent changes facing the Jamat in Canada and those with whom the Jamat lives. The program is designed to help individuals to look ahead and plan for the future.
