Permanent Residence Applications for Caregivers

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced new plans to expedite the processing of Permanent Residence applications of those caregivers who have completed their in-Canada work experience. This would also apply to the immediate family members of the caregivers and will be effective Monday, May 3. Under these plans, IRCC will finalize 6,000 caregiver applications by the end of 2021; which includes 1,500 first-stage decisions by Wednesday, June 30. Jamati members who qualify are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
