Startup Showcase

The Economic Planning Board for Canada (EPB) is excited to showcase startup successes in our Canadian Jamat as part of the Ignite Summit to be held on May 3-5, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. Selected applicants will pitch in front of a panel of judges and an audience of professionals, entrepreneurs and alliance members.

The applicants for Startup Showcase will confidently

• Gain exposure
• Compete for prizes
• Hear from seasoned judges
• Connect with potential investors and partners

Successful candidates will receive one complimentary pass to the Ignite Summit & will be paired with an advisor who will provide coaching prior to the pitch compettion at the Ignite Summit.

Prizes will be awarded to the presenters based on merit and best fit:

• One participant from the Business Pitch Competition at the Ignite Summit will receive a suite of marketing services with a value of $10,000 from our sponsor.
• One participant (new business only) from the Business Pitch Compettion at the Ignite Summit will receive a free 1 hour consultation and $3,000 credit from our sponsor to go towards one of the following services:
  • Accounting and/or bookkeeping services
  • Corporate tax compliance or advisory
  • SR&ED assistance
• All participants will receive access to the Lean Entreprenuer Acceleration Program, valued at $299 USD, from our sponsor.

Application Process

The application is a three-step process:

1. Complete the application form by March 15th, 2019
2. Submit a completed version of your Business Model Canvas*
3. Submit a video of a one-minute elevator pitch for your business*
