Sundays at the Museum
This Sunday, the Aga Khan Museum invites you to experience a selection of performances and conversations from the Rhythms of Canada Virtual Celebrations.
The show features:
• Pocket Performance: Amely Zhou - An expressive and dynamic figure on stage, Canadian Chinese musician Amely Zhou pursues a diverse career both as a conductor and an erhu soloist.
• Curator From Home: When Paintings Become Political - As debates rage across North America about public memorials to controversial figures, Curator Marika Sardar discusses an image of a British commander-in-chief in India from the Museum collection.
• Pocket Performance: Shaho Andalibi - Aga Khan Music Award-winning musician and vocalist Shaho Andalibi treats #MuseumWithoutWalls-goers to awe-inspiring improvised melodies with roots in Kurdistan and beyond.
• Pocket Performance: Lisa Odjig - Lisa is Odawa/Ojibwe/Pottawatomi Nations from Wikwemikong, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. She is the first woman in the history of the Annual World Championship Hoop Dance contest in Phoenix, Arizona, to win World Champion Hoop Dancer in the adult female and male combined adult division.
