This week marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Central Asia through an international treaty signed by the Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Mawlana Hazar Imam.
Join Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, Chairman of the University of Central Asia Board of Trustees, and host Rahim Moloo, as we reflect on Mawlana Hazar Imam's vision in creating a university serving mountain communities. Hear how this remarkable institution of higher education is responding to some of the region’s pressing social and economic challenges through innovative investment in the development of Central Asia’s future leaders. And reflect on Dr. Kassim-Lakha’s personal experiences through his life-long journey of service.
Dr. Kassim-Lakha has led the planning, building and operation of UCA and was appointed as Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. For almost three decades prior, Dr. Kassim-Lakha led the building and operation of the Aga Khan University as its President. He has also served in the Government of Pakistan as Minister of Education, as well as of Science and Technology.
