Webinar: Fostering an Inspiring Home Environment for the Secondary-Aged Student
The first few years of life are a period of rapid growth, maturation, and early learning. Genetics and early experiences interact to sculpt the developing brain. This knowledge led to dramatic developments in early childhood education with a heavy emphasis during the first five years of life. Recent advances in developmental neuroscience are now revealing that adolescence is a second period of dynamic and rapid growth, when the brain is undergoing major reorganization. This period of development is a highly sensitive period for social learning.
Join panelists Professor Naznin Virji-Babul and Educational Psychologist Rahman Rener in part two of the webinar series about managing school at home. The focus will be on secondary aged youth, and we will discuss how understanding the strengths and vulnerabilities associated with adolescence can drive positive experiences for parents and youth as they relate to health, education, social learning, and identity development – particularly during these challenging times.
