The Jamat Helping Jamat initiative is an opportunity for us to help shape the future as we continue to build a strong community and support members of the Jamat to flourish in Canada. Discover the five key areas where your support can make a profound difference, as well as a number of additional volunteer opportunities.
Housing
Offer housing solutions or assist with securing accommodation for newcomers through direct connections.
Employment
Provide job opportunities or facilitate connections between newcomers and potential employers within a network.
Family Buddy Program
Facilitate the integration of newcomer families into Canadian society through a Family Buddy Program, offering friendship, guidance, training, and ongoing support.
Language Classes
Teach English or French to newcomers, with no experience required and all materials provided.
Youth Buddy Program
Support newcomer youth with friendship and connection as part of a Youth Buddy Program, introducing them to the local Ismaili community, Jamatkhanas, and Jamati institutional programming and services for youth or young adults aged 12-25.
