In many cities of the developing world, green spaces have often been overwhelmed by growth, migration and a lack of planning. Municipalities have often neglected the issue of encroachment which has swallowed up forests and grasslands. The Aga Khan Trust for culture started working with the notion that green spaces could become catalysts for positive economic and social change.
