Friday Night Reflections: Articulating Our Identity

January 8, 2021 | Canada

Mawlana Hazar Imam has often spoken of a ‘Clash of Ignorance’ between the Muslim and western worlds. In our efforts to bridge this divide and build a better understanding across faiths and cultures, it is critical to be able to speak with confidence about the essential tenets of our faith.

This evening, join host Debra Somani and Alwaez Hussein Charania for an illuminating conversation as they delve into a series of questions, reflecting on our identity as Shia Ismaili Muslims. When engaging with those not familiar with Islam or the Ismaili Tariqah, or may have misconceptions of them, how do we best articulate these core beliefs in ways that are both understandable and enlightening? Alwaez Charania will help us on the journey to engage in such dialogue, and, in the process, to better understand ourselves.
