Message from the Councils for Edmonton and Prairies
Volunteering requires a selfless sense of giving back and it was inspiring to see how this
generosity of spirit helped Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee Visit come together seamlessly. By
working together, with one vision and one heart, you helped make the Jamat's journey to and
through the Mulaqat a memorable one. To serve in these historic moments is a privilege; to
stand shoulder-to-shoulder and serve with each of you makes this privilege even deeper and
more meaningful.
Mawlana Hazar Imam expressed great happiness at every stage of the visit and frequently asked
that blessings be conveyed to all the volunteers involved in the visit. We also extend special
gratitude and prayers to your family members and loved ones; we know it is so often their
sacrifice and support that allow you to serve.
Seva is an integral part of the Ismaili tradition. Throughout our history, volunteers have served
in various forms, and have become role models for our community. Our Seva Journey began last
year on Imamat Day 2017 and we look forward to your continued support and dedication as we
complete our beloved Imam’s Diamond Jubilee year with wonderful activities and milestone
events.
Thank you for your exemplary devotion, your commitment, your collegiality, and your
extraordinary hard work throughout the Diamond Jubilee year. We pray for the acceptance of
your seva and that this seva may be rewarded with barakah many, many times over. We also
pray that this service brings you and your families much happiness, fulfilment and courage to
face all your difficulties.
With gratitude,
President Zahra Somani President Fauzia Lalani-Khudabux
