Navroz Mubarak Message

On behalf of all Prairies Jamati institutions and Jamati and Majalis Mukhi Kamadia Sahebs and Mukhiani Kamadiani Sahebas, we wish you and your families a heartfelt Navroz Mubarak.

As the start of the New Year, Navroz is a time of spiritual renewal, physical rejuvenation, hope and optimism. It gives us the opportunity to both reflect on the past year, and look forward to the year ahead.

This past year is especially significant as it marked 50 years of the Jamat’s strong presence in Canada. As we reflect on the achievements of the Jamat up until this point, let us also celebrate what is to come.  This year we welcomed many new Jamati members arriving from around the world to Canada. Let us do what we can do to support and welcome them. Let us offer gratitude for the diversity and strength this brings to the Jamat.

Let us also remember the many Jamats around the world who are facing situations of political, social and geographic instability. Let us provide support whenever we can, and offer prayers for peace and security.

We would also like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to the Jamat and all our volunteers who continue to give of their time and resources. It is your energy, your generosity, and your compassion that keeps the Jamat healthy, happy and united.

Finally, let us offer shukrana to our beloved Imam for his unwavering guidance and support.

We wish each and every one of you a joyful and fulfilling Navroz Day. May you, your families and your loved ones be blessed with immense barakah, good health, prosperity, peace, spiritual understanding and the alleviation of all your difficulties.

Navroz Mubarak!

Connecting Newly Arrived Jamati Members

Over the past 50 years, Ismailis from various backgrounds and cultures have made Canada their home and have benefited from this pluralistic land of opportunities. This year, the Prairies Jamat has welcomed many newcomer Jamati members from around the world who have migrated to Canada and have made it their new home. Individuals have arrived from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Tajikistan, East Africa, and many other countries.

On Friday, February 3, 2023, many newly arrived Jamati members received a typical Canadian-style welcome at the Calgary Headquarters Jamatkhana, where they had an opportunity to connect with amazing volunteers from the Prairies Jamati institutions. These newly arrived Jamati members had an opportunity to learn more about the programs and services that are being offered.

The volunteers provided guidance around several key areas including housing, finding jobs, health, schooling, learning English, citizenship, family support, Tariqah matters, future planning, and much more.  This was also an opportunity for Jamati members to identify seva opportunities and build new relationships.

All newly arrived Jamati members are encouraged to reach out to the Jamati Institutions for support and information via ACCESS.  Information on programs and services is available on the iicanada.org website and on the iiCanada App.

Be Part of the Canadian Jamati Survey

My dear brothers and sisters - On behalf of Prairies Institutional leaders, and all Jamati Mukhi Kamadia Sahebs and Mukhiani Kamadiani Sahebas, we wish each of you a very happy 2023, with prayers for good health, happiness, peace and barakah. Ameen.

The beginning of a new calendar year provides an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our lives and set new goals as individuals and as a Jamat.

Over the past few weeks, Jamati members across Canada have been participating in a very important initiative - the Canadian Jamati Survey.  For those who have completed the survey, thank you; I would like to make a special request for every Jamati household in the Prairies to have one member complete this critical Survey.

On a regular basis, our leadership seeks guidance from Mawlana Hazar Imam on future direction for our Jamat. To support this, we provide Mawlana Hazar Imam with a profile of the Canadian Jamat, in a summary format. We know that the guidance of our beloved Imam has been critical to our success over the past 50 years of the Jamat’s history in Canada. We want to ensure that we provide him with an accurate picture of the Jamat in Canada so that we can build an even stronger future for our children and their children.

  • The survey is confidential
  • It takes 10-15 minutes to complete
  • And only one member of the household needs to complete it.
  • Those who require language assistance please call ACCESS for help.

We encourage ALL households to complete the survey.

Volunteers are also available in Jamatkhana for support. For questions or assistance please call the Access line or reach out to your Jamati Mukhhi Kamadia Sahebs or Mukhani Kamadia Sahebas or any Institutional leader.

Our deepest gratitude to all members of the Jamat for your continuous support, kindness, and generosity. My heartfelt wish for 2023 to be a blessed one for all of us.
