Global Ismaili CIVIC Day - Donation Drive - Ontario

On Sunday, September 26, all Ontarians will commemorate Global Ismaili CIVIC Day by hosting a donation drive at various Ontario Jamatkhanas from 11am to 2pm ET. We will be collecting supplies for vulnerable children and youth in the GTA, as well as for the recently arrived refugees from Afghanistan.

Let us recognize and rejoice in the blessing of this auspicious occasion as one Jamat in spirit.

Re-opening of Downtown Jamatkhana

The Council for Ontario is excited to advise the Jamat that we will be re-opening Downtown Jamatkhana using a cautious and measured approach. Downtown Jamatkhana will resume its normal schedule for evening Jamati ceremonies as of Friday, June 25, and morning ceremonies as of Saturday, June 26.

Jamatkhana capacity will initially be limited. Using careful monitoring and based on input from public health officials and health professionals, capacity will gradually be adjusted as circumstances evolve. 

At this time, we are encouraging Downtown Jamati members to change their Primary Jamatkhana in the registration system to Downtown Jamatkhana in order to facilitate their access to registration spots as they become available. 

Only Jamati members with allocated spots will be able to attend Jamatkhana. Walk-ins will not be permitted at this time. 

Please note that whether or not you have received a COVID vaccination, all those attending Jamatkhana will be required to: 

  • Wear a mask at all times inside and outside Jamatkhana
  • Keep a minimum 2-metre distance from others not in their household
  • Sanitize their hands frequently
  • Avoid gathering in groups or socializing

If you have already registered to attend Jamatkhana through the Jamatkhana registration site, you do not need to take any further action - the registration system will inform you once a spot becomes available.

In the News: COVID-19 Pop-up Clinic at Scarborough Jamatkhana

The Ismaili Council for Ontario via the Ismaili CIVIC initiative in partnership with Scarborough Health Network and the Scarborough Ontario Health Team partners organized a COVID-19 Vaccine Pop–up Clinic from 8 am to 8 pm at the Scarborough Ismaili Jamatkhana on Friday, May 14, 2021.  

We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners at the Scarborough Health Network for collaborating with us for this impactful initiative.  

A total of 1518 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered.  We would like to acknowledge the hard work of the 70 Ismaili volunteers who helped with clinic set-up, flow and wrap-up, as well as the 75 clinic staff who helped to administer the vaccines.

In the News: COVID-19 Pop-up Clinic at Aga Khan Museum and Aga Khan Park

The Ismaili Council for Ontario via the Ismaili CIVIC initiative in partnership with Michael Garron Hospital and East Toronto Health Partners organized a COVID-19 Vaccine Pop–up Clinic at the Aga Khan Museum and the Aga Khan Park on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 8 am to 6 pm.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners at Michael Garron Hospital and East Toronto Health Partners for collaborating with us for this impactful initiative.

A total of 1558 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered. We would like to acknowledge the hard work of the 70 Ismaili volunteers who helped with clinic set-up, flow and wrap-up, as well as the 100 clinic staff who helped to administer the vaccines.
