Your last chance to be part of World Partnership Walk 2017!

It’s the last week of the 2017 World Partnership Walk campaign but it’s not too late to be part of it. Did you know that in rural parts of Pakistan, 1 in 10 children don’t make it past their first year of life? In Canada, we have the knowledge and community support that helps new families care for their young ones. When we support Aga Khan Foundation Canada through the Walk , our dollars go to programs like midwife training that brings this same expertise to amazing people like Zahida who learn the essentials and bring that knowledge to the families in her community.

With only 1 week left in the campaign, this is your last chance to be part of the movement to end global poverty. Don’t miss your chance. Support the campaign today!

Make it Father’s Day around the world

Join Aga Khan Foundation Canada in recognizing fathers everywhere. In Bangladesh fathers like Dayal Pradhan are getting the chance to read to their kids. Family support programs and early childhood education are helping Dayal, other parents, and their children, strengthen the building blocks of learning by investing in their children early. We can change the future, and we should start today.

Don’t miss the World Partnership Walk Campaign: from June 14 to 19, 2017. Your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar in recognition of Fathers. You can advance the lives of children and families across the globe. Learn more about how we are recognizing Father’s Day.

There’s still time to help end global poverty!

Thanks to the support of Canadians through World Partnership Walk, families in Kashka-Suu in the Kyrgyz Republic now have a local parenting resource centre for their community. Mothers and fathers learn the basics of caring for young children, like proper nutrition, good hygiene, and the importance of playtime.

Only one in five Kyrgyz children attend early childhood education programs, and almost 50 percent of children do not have learning materials at home. But Abutalip and Sanabar realized they could encourage their children to play and learn with homemade toys, instead of spending their limited budget on buying toys made in neighbouring China.

These solutions work. Join us in empowering more parents like Abutalip and Sanabar to build brighter futures for their children. With only 3 weeks left in the campaign, there’s still time to be part of the movement to end global poverty. Don’t miss your chance. Learn more and register today!

Spark change for women globally!

These women in northern Pakistan are training to become electricians, to power their communities…and discover their own power to build a better life for their families.

There are few job opportunities in this remote, mountainous area of Pakistan. Women and men are often forced to migrate in search of work – draining talent and potential from the region.

However, thanks to the support of Canadians through World Partnership Walk – women and men are gaining access to the skills training they need to become active, contributing members of their home communities.

Join us in empowering more women to unlock their potential and build up their community. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this change. There are only 4 weeks left in the campaign. Let’s make this year great! Learn more and register today!

Growing up in rural Mozambique is not like life in Canada. Meet Apendiwe, who grew up without learning to read or write. As a result, as an adult, she struggled to feed her children and send them to school. This is what the cycle of poverty does. According to the World Bank, more than half of the population of Mozambique lives below the poverty line.

But we have solutions. Thanks to support from World Partnership Walk through Aga Khan Foundation Canada, Apendiwe and her neighbours received basic training and opened a weaving workshop. Today they are turning their talents into a profitable business.

Apendiwe has earned and saved enough money to build a new home.

Be part of the movement and empower more individuals like Apendiwe to lift themselves out of poverty. Invite your friends, colleagues and neighbors to join you on Walk Day in your City on Sunday, June 4th. Learn more and register today!
