“During this time of need for many, it is essential for us to be grateful for what we have and work towards helping others achieve a high quality of life and access to opportunity.” - Iman Abdulla
Considering how recent world events would pose greater adversity for students making the transition into their first year of post-secondary education, Ismaili CIVIC Star Iman Abdulla saw a desperate need for guidance and took action. The premedical student became a student mentor with NetworkU to work with recent high school graduates. She helps implement action plans to foster resilience against the upcoming challenges. Iman has also been a cabinet member of MP Catherine McKenna’s Constituency Youth Council, as well as the national media representative for the Youth Services Bureau. She worked with others to develop initiatives working to eradicate food insecurity, youth homelessness, and unemployment.
