Peak inflation rates in 2022 cost Canadians a major chunk of their wages, according to a new Statistics Canada report. The inflation increase in 2022 was a 40-year-high since 1982’s 10.9 per cent hike. Tax filers in 2022 reported median wages of $45,380, a 1.6 per cent decline from the previous year after adjusting for inflation.
