Facets of Faith: The Light that Lights the Heart
“The light that lights the eye is also the light of the heart… but the light that lights the heart is the Light of God.”
Mawlana Rumi
In 2010, in Toronto, Mawlana Hazar Imam cited this excerpt from Rumi's poetry, reminding us that the Divine Light of the Creator is reflected in the glow of individual human inspiration and a vibrant, transparent community. As we prepare for the commemoration of Imamat Day, this session will explore the notion of love and of our spiritual connection to the light of faith. How do we use our awareness of the source of light within us, and gain strength from the love that exists between a murid and murshid, to strengthen this light, and elevate our soul? How can we fulfil Rumi's promise of being the light that illuminates everything around us? Join us for this important reflection of the metaphor of light in our spiritual journey.
