Floods are every homeowners' nightmare. As the cleanup is underway for Quebec residents, the conversation of provincial and federal government for support flood damage has been reignited.
For residents within the City of Toronto, financial assistance is available. The municipal government has put $37 million toward the costs of flood-proofing for over 20 thousand properties through the Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program.
As per the Program site, the City offers owners of single-family, duplex and triplex residential homes a financial subsidy of up to $3,400 per property on a first-come, first-served basis.
