Global Ismaili CIVIC Day 2023

Global Ismaili CIVIC Day is a weekend when the Jamat around the world can put our ethics of civic engagement and good citizenship in action and unite around our centuries-old tradition of serving humanity and enriching the lives of the communities in which we live.

The international endeavour reflects the community's ethic of civic engagement and good citizenship, exemplifying Islam's core values of service, peace, compassion and care for the vulnerable.  On Global Ismaili CIVIC Day we will come together to participate in a diverse array of activities that will occur simultaneously, uniting the global Jamat's efforts in its service to humanity.

The theme that has been selected for 2023 is Environmental Stewardship. See below for events happening in your region:

Sunday, October 1

Quand? Le 1er octobre de 13h à 15h.

Qui peut adhérer? Toute personne âgée de 16 ans minimum

Being an Ismaili CIVIC volunteer means taking action to protect our environment. On Sunday, October 1, we will be volunteering our time with the organization “Les amis de la Montagne” to prevent the natural growth of native trees and shrubs. Common buckthorn is an invasive exotic shrub that threatens the biodiversity of the natural environment. Volunteers will be called upon to pursue cutting activities and root removal. Participants will set and water the new plantations in predetermined locations.

When? Sunday, October 1 from 1 to 3 pm.

Who can join? Anyone 16 years or older
