The South Asian Women’s Community Centre (SAWCC) is dedicated to the empowerment of women of South Asian origin. Position: Community worker
Salary: $12/ hour

Requirements:
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.Fluent in Dari, Farsi, English, and French. Functional knowledge of Pashto is an assetHave knowledge of social services in MontrealUnderstanding of community needs and issuesMotivation to provide services to all age groups

Task and responsibilities for community workerThe community worker will be responsible for taking phone calls and appointments with women and families who communicate mainly in Farsi and Dari. The community worker will be responsible for offering one-on-one support, accompaniment services, translation services, support and filling out paperwork as well as offering counsel and advice regarding social services within the city.The community worker will be expected to do some administrative work. The community worker will be supported [daily] by the Centre coordinator as well as her colleagues.
