Minazali Velji has been a dedicated and hardworking volunteer for almost 49 years. His volunteering journey started in Tanzania, then over to Spain, and finally in Canada, where he has volunteered in both in Kitchener, Ontario and now in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Minazali is currently Vice Captain and a Care for the Elderly team member at the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver. Most recently, since the beginning of the pandemic, Minazali has actively dedicated hundreds of hours and has been an integral part of the organizing, coordinating and delivering of food and groceries to seniors and the Jamat.
Additionally, in accordance with pandemic restrictions, Minazali can also be found at Darkhana helping with security, supporting the maintenance of the building, and setting up the social hall for social events.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to serve with Minazali will testify that he truly exemplifies what is means to be a volunteer. He can always be found providing exceptional service with a smile.
