Supporting Newcomer Wellness, Settlement and Empowerment

Description

We warmly invite all Dari-speaking newly arrived and settled families to join us for a session on the topic of How to Manage and Cope with Early Settlement Challenges.

The session will provide participants with the necessary tools for managing and coping with anxiety and stress. The session will be facilitated by Dari speaking counsellors Amir Sepehry and Mitra Panah.

Join us on Saturday, May 25 from 4pm to 5:30pm at Burnaby Lake Jamatkhana in the Academic Learning Complex (ALC), Classroom 2.

About the Facilitators:

Mitra Panah is a dedicated counseling professional who earned her Counselling Therapist diploma from Stenberg College in 2022. She is currently pursuing a Master of Counselling Psychology Degree at Adler University.

Amir A. Sepehry, currently pursuing a Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, brings a diverse background to his practice. With prior training in neuroscience and neuropsychology, Amir has authored numerous scientific papers focusing on dementia, traumatic brain injury, and psychopharmacology.
