Arriving Early

For the first few weeks, following the opening of the Ismaili Centre Toronto Jamatkhana, we anticipate that the Centre will reach its full capacity very early.  Jamati members hoping to participate in Jamati ceremonies at the Centre are requested to plan their trip and arrive early to avoid disappointment.  As mentioned earlier, once the Centre reaches capacity, the Jamat will be redirected to neighbhouring Jamatkhanas.

Chair Availability

Jamati members requiring chairs during Jamati ceremonies are advised that the Centre has a very limited number of chairs.  The Jamat is requested to follow the volunteers’ instructions in managing availability of chairs at the Ismaili Centre.

Arriving at the Centre

We ask that Jamati members arrive together as a family or carpool with others, with at least 3 or 4 people in each car, and avoid bringing multiple cars to the Ismaili Centre.  Additional parking is being procured in external parking lots and a shuttle service is being organized. There is no Jamati bus service available at the present time for the Ismaili Centre. Further information will be communicated in due course.

All vehicles should use the West Gate Entrance (Gate 3) when entering the Ismaili Centre Toronto. When arriving at the Centre, we strongly recommend that the Jamat use the following routes to assist with smooth flow and management of traffic.

Entering the Ismaili Centre Toronto

Heading south on the Don Valley Parkway, we suggest that you exit at Eglinton Avenue (go past the Wynford Drive exit) and then stay in the right lane, exiting right on Gervais Drive, and right again on Wynford Drive (east), entering through the West Gate Entrance (Gate 3), again by turning right (south).

From Don Mills Road, northbound, turn right (east) onto Wynford Drive and then enter by turning right (south) into Gate 3, which is the main entrance of the Ismaili Centre Toronto.

Exiting the Ismaili Centre Toronto

To avoid congestion, and to minimize left turns out of the Ismaili Centre Toronto, we request that all vehicles exiting the Centre turn right (east) onto Wynford Drive and then get onto the appropriate roadways to return home safely.

Use of Reusable Bags

The policies governing the Ismaili Centre Toronto require that we strive to be as environmentally friendly as we possibly can. There will be limited availability of paper and/or plastic items at the Centre. The Jamat is requested to bring any items for Jamatkhana in reusable bags, as there will be no plastic bags available on site.

Reminder About the Use of Tree Nuts and Peanuts

The policies governing the Ismaili Centre require that we strive to provide a healthy and safe environment. Articles containing nuts will therefore be placed away from where the majority of the Jamat congregates.
