Salina is a Toronto based photographer.
While she focuses on capturing photographs for architects and designers, she has a personal interest in creating narratives of how a building is created. These narratives bring to light the construction and engineering process one layer at a time and become part of the story of a building’s development. Contextualizing the images within their environment allows views to a project that are not always obviously apparent. These bodies of work are approached with a documentary and architectural lens. Some of these narratives include the revitalization of Massey Hall and the Landmark project at University of Toronto and The Canadian Canoe Museum.
Her work has been recognized by Canadian Architect where she has been twice awarded the Photo Award of Excellence. Her images were showcased by Dezeen and Loop Design Awards in 2023 where she received a citation award for interior photography. She has also been selected for the Architizer A+ finalist list for her evocative images of the Aga Khan Garden.
Salina’s work has been exhibited in the Contact Photography festival, as well as Massey Hall, Arta Gallery, BCE Place and The Global Centre for Pluralism. Salina’s work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Style at Home, The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Toronto Society of Architects and Nuvo Magazine.
