Virtual Care: A Risk Management Checklist for Healthcare Providers

August 22, 2020 | Canada

To respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, health providers have been forced to take unprecedented measures of closing their doors and restricting access to in-person services. This has accelerated innovation and the adoption of virtual care solutions, to enable health providers to connect clinical services with those in need. As we begin to come out of the COVID lockdown across the country, it is clear that virtual care is here to stay as an alternate or additional model of care.

In this webinar, Karima Kanani, a partner at Miller Thomas LLP, will offer an overview of general legal requirements, privacy, and security challenges with virtual care. Participants will leave with a risk management checklist of essential action items for every health provider engaging in virtual care. The session will be moderated by Dr. Ryaz Chagpar, Chairman, Aga Khan Health Board for British Columbia.
