Shereen Ladha is a professional dancer, choreographer, artist, instructor, and movement director. She is the director of the viral YouTube channel dancewithSL that features Bollywood, Classical Indian, and modern styles (and was even used by Apple in their most recent ads!). She was named as a Next 15 Canadian Stars on the rise by YouTube & Google Canada, Top 100 Canadian women with cool jobs by FLARE magazine, and top female artists by the CBC. Shereen has also been profiled by BuzzFeed, the Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, CTV, CBC, Breakfast Television, and Vogue India for her work.
Shereen started her dance journey at the age of 4, training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and South Asian classical styles Bharatnatyam and Kathak. She started dancing professionally at the age of 14 doing commercial work and back-up for artists like Mika Singh, Akshay Kumar, RDB, Jazzy B, Atif Aslam, Sonam Kapoor, Sukhbir, and Lara Dutta, as well as high-profile stage shows such as the Toronto Raptors halftime shows, WE Day, and the PanAm Games. She was cast as a dancer in the Hollywood film ‘The Love Guru’ and Netflix’s ‘Hemlock Grove’, and was a finalist on Canada’s Got Talent.
Shereen then launched her solo career which led her to producing her YouTube channel, which included viral sensation 'Maafi' - the Bollywood cover of Justin Bieber's 'Sorry'. She also hit touring stage shows 'Roots: A Journey Through India' and 'Rihla: From Roots to Dreams', and exhibits like TIFF Bell Lightbox’s ‘Picture Palace’ and Nuit Blanche Toronto. Shereen also choreographed the opening and closing ceremonies for the Jubilee Games in Dubai in 2016 and performed at the Jubilee Arts Festival in Lisbon in 2018.
