Al-Ummah Canada
Al-Ummah Canada is a 15-day overnight residential camp for ages 15-18.
Hosted at a boarding school, the program offers participants an opportunity to develop a sense of comfort and belonging to the Ismaili community within a broader experience of Islamic living. Participants from across the country and even worldwide come together as a community through educational sessions, group programs, artistic expressions, sports events, and celebratory occasions. Al-Ummah creates life-long friendships and allows for a true understanding of faith.
Through Al-Ummah Canada, participants will be encouraged to:
- Challenge themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually with a multitude of spine-tingling activities and expeditions
- Engage in discussions and debates around topical issues, relevant to our community and themselves
- Develop into active citizens, ambassadors, and future leaders of the Jamat and society by strengthening their leadership skills and confidence
- Gain a real understanding of civic responsibility and what it means to be an ambassador of our faith within today's fast paced world
- Become a more confident individual, leader, and citizen, taking with them unforgettable memories, shared life changing experiences with life-long friends and an acquired confidence and ability to clearly articulate their ideas and opinions
Read about more personal experiences from past participants in The Ismaili Magazine on pages 62-66.
