Ali Shair Ahmadi (a.k.a. Ali Share) is a Montreal based singer, song writer, musician, composer, and sound engineer. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and moved to Canada at the age of 5, initially to Sherbrooke, Quebec and later to Montreal. Here, living in a multicultural environment, his passion for Afghan, Indian, and Persian music flourished. Through his musical journey in Canada, Ali took music lessons with teachers from numerous backgrounds such as Iranian, Afghan, Indian, Canadian, and Armenian. A multi-talented musician, he can play a variety of instruments including piano, harmonium, violin, damboram, and darbuka. He has also played for many popular Afghan artists such as Aryana Sayeed, Mozhdah Jamal Zada, and Fardin Faryad
Since 2011, Ali has performed at more than 500 events including weddings, concerts, Eid celebrations, and events for the Ismaili community. He has had the chance to perform at both public and private events in many cities across Canada such as Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Toronto, Ottawa, and Sherbrooke. He also traveled to the United-States for performances in New York, Virginia, and Texas. Ali has performed at festivals such as Festival Orientalys in old Port Montreal and Festival traditional du monde at Fleurimont.
Ali also coproduced a documentary titled “Beyond Borders” which was featured during the Jubilee Arts Festival in Lisbon in 2018.
