Farah Merani - actor, filmmaker, & advocate

Renowned actor with a long list of TV and film credits, she is also an advocate for greater representation of women on screen.

Farah Merani is a Muslim actor, filmmaker, educator, and advocate currently based between LA and Toronto.

She is a graduate of the Drama Centre London and has performed across the UK, Canada and the US, throughout Europe and in Russia. Some of her TV and film credits include: SEE on AppleTV, Station 19, Frankie Drake, and Shadowhunters, and recently in the feature film, Eat Wheaties!, featuring Tony Hale.

In addition to being an actor, she has produced dozens of films with her company, Lifeguard Productions, co-founded a non-profit called Women on Screen, and serves as a diversity and inclusion consultant for film and tv with her former co-chair of the ACTRA Toronto Diversity Committee. She is also Head of the Script Department for the Firecracker Department and hosts a regular script reading series supporting female-identifying writers.

Presently, she is developing multiple television series, as well as writing a children’s graphic novel and soon to be animated television show, and has been cast to star in the upcoming animated series, Conferum. Farah is represented by GVA Talent for theatrical and managed by Zero Gravity Management.
