Jobina is a contemporary dance artist (dancer and choreographer). From a very early age she was attracted to ballet as she loved the narrative, the spectacular technique, and classical music. As she evolved as an artist she found her true passion in movement  for what is more human than simply moving?

This led her to contemporary dance and work that is truthful, raw, and vulnerable... work that a dancer can’t hide behind. For Jobina, movement is the embodiment of our heart, mind, and spirit. Tapping into wholeness allows her to interpret choreography in an honest and powerful way.

Jobina has trained, worked, and performed throughout Canada and internationally, mainly in Europe. She has appeared in a wide range of contemporary dance pieces, including site-specific work, operas, as an independent dance artist, and with dance companies. She particularly loves collaborating and creating with other artists, which is currently leading her into interdisciplinary immersive art work.

In Berlin, Jobina co-founded the Sudstern Collective, an international and diverse group of female artists that create honest, innovative work for public spaces. Her most recent project was a collaboration of visual, digital, and costume artists, filmmakers, writers, and performance and dance artists that toured in Berlin, London, and Italy.

As a choreographer, Jobina’s work has been seen in festivals in London and Berlin. She is passionate about creating movement that bears a raw kinesthetic sensibility driven by a deep emotional resonance.

A passionate advocate for the wellbeing of artists and their practice, Jobina is Chair of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists (CADA-West). She is also a certified life coach, and in alignment with this, teaches empowerment workshops for emerging artists.
