Award winning Nimet Kanji was born in Nairobi, Kenya and began acting on stage with the local theatre company. She emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1989 where she continued to work on stage. She began her career in film and TV in 2001 and has had the pleasure of working with Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), Kevin Sorbo (Paradox), and John Cusack (Martian Child).
Nimet has had many wonderful roles. Most recently she was on stage with Western Gold Theatre's "90 days", a story about the expulsion of Asians from Uganda, written by Salim Rahemtulla.
Her most recent screen appearance is in Hallmark's Movie of the Week "Match Me, Please" where she plays a Palm Reader.
Nimet also does voice work and was thrilled when she was asked to voice the 'Welcome' for Disney's theme park in Florida.
