Noorullah is an associated architect at FarMor Architecture where, with his hard work and dedication to achieving technical and creative excellence, he has carried a wide range of project types.

From the early age of about 8 years old, Noorullah became interested in art and began developing his artistic skills by drawing Disney and other cartoon characters. Through his Junior high school years, Noorullah had expanded his range of skills to working with coloured pencils and ballpoint pens in drawing wildlife and portraits. In high school, he was admitted into the International Baccalaureate Art program which set the foundation for learning the basics of elements and principles of design. This was also the point at which he became interested in automotive design and mathematics. His passion for art and mathematics was ultimately the two major factors that made him decide to pursue a career in architecture and the built environment.

He further advanced his knowledge of art history and skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking for 2 years at the University of Calgary’s fine arts program before transitioning to the bachelor of Environmental Design program at the University of British Columbia. After obtaining his Bachelors degree, he continued his studies pursuing a Masters in Architecture at the University of Calgary.

In addition, music has always remained as a part of Noorullah’s family and has been a keen interest of his from a young age. He is particularly interested in creating and performing Afghan folk music, Qawwalis, Ghazals, and Indian Classical music. His music and performances often includes poetry from Maulana Rumi, Hafiz Shirazi, Bedil Dehlavi, and other Sufi poets. Noorullah has performed on numerous stages with the Qawwali group Justajoo as a lead singer and harmonium player.

Noorullah’s artistic works are inspired by the notion of the search for understanding our inner self through self-reflection. Furthermore, his work in the built environment is continuously inspired by observing and learning from the systems, geometries, and complexities of the natural world.
