BUI classes and SEED sessions are cancelled for this weekend at Barrie Jamatkhana. Updates will be provided as they are available through Jamatkhana announcements, social media and the iiCanada app. 

Jamatkhana bus CANCELLATIONS

Due to weather conditions, all Jamatkhana buses will be cancelled this evening, February 6.  Exercise caution if you are driving or walking as the roads, parking lots and sidewalks are slippery. Be sure to have appropriate supplies in case of any power outages and stay in touch with family and friends.

Commemorate Milad-un-Nabi at a public lecture at Emmanuel College, University of Toronto.

The keynote speaker will be Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies, at University of Edinburgh's Divinity School.  She will speak on the topic of Doing God in The West: The Limits of Law and Pluralism.

Mona Siddiqui is an internationally renowned public intellectual, and a commentator who chairs the BBC’s Religious Advisory Committee. Her research areas are in Islamic law and ethics and Christian-Muslim relations. Her most recent books include Christians, Muslims and Jesus (Yale, 2013) and Hospitality and Islam (Yale, 2015). She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Royal Society of Arts and, in 2017, was listed in Debretts top 500 most influential people in the UK. In 2011, she was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by the Queen for her contribution to interfaith services.

Jamati members, as well as multi-faith friends and family are warmly invited to attend.
