Aliza Sovani (CSLA, FFP, IFLA) studied Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and has professional design, consulting, and teaching experience spanning 10+ countries. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor in Architecture from Carleton University/Istanbul Technical University and is certified in permaculture design and green building. She is an accredited member of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA).
She was Researcher-in-Residence at the Andalusian Institute for Historical Heritage focusing on the Alhambra y Generalife in Granada, Spain and has contributed to the development and implementation of urban environmental planning policy for the City of Toulouse, France. Most recently, she co-authored the latest Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme book: "A Sustainable Future: Urban Parks & Gardens."
Aliza has been a design critic and guest lecturer at Harvard University, Carleton University, the University of Toronto, and the American University in Beirut. At present, Aliza is the co-founder of LILI Media & Design Lab, which focuses on projects at the intersection of environmental design, journalism and science.
