The IGWP journey should focus on engaging all members of the family to incorporate diverse ideas, skills and perspectives leading to the development of a comprehensive IGWP family plan incorporating the unique needs and objectives of all family members.  

Girls and women have traditionally left financial planning to their male counterparts. However, this is not a prudent approach. Successful planning of IGWP requires diversity of thoughts and ideas, respect for new and different perspectives, as well as humility in recognizing that everyone brings unique and important perspectives to the table. Therefore, more engagement is necessary and critical to developing a successful, thoughtful, and forward-looking IGWP.

Each generation brings new perspectives, skills, and ideas. Senior members of our family are a tremendous source of wisdom. Take the time to learn what their best practices and lessons learned were. It is therefore a critical advantage to create regular spaces for dialogue focusing on IGWP with all members of the family, no matter their age or gender.

Developing the financial skills of the next generation will be even more critical as they will be living with the rapid changes.
