illume 2023 is the first festival bringing our entire Canadian Jamat together to celebrate and inspire excellence through the universal languages of arts and sports.

Festivals are a place to gather, connect, celebrate, and be inspired — illume 2023 is sure to do all of that, and more! From the qualifying events to the national festival, the next few months will be full of celebration, preparation, and excitement.

Every great festival needs a great name. As we continue to welcome more of more members of our Jamat here to Canada, we also celebrate that we have been here for 50 years, and have truly created a place for us to all belong together. 

The name illume celebrates everything we have achieved in Canada—it is a combination of ‘illuminate’ and ‘Ummah’. Put that together and you get a united community that shines bright across the country.

illume is for athletes and artists of all ages. There are different age groupings for the various sports and arts categories.

The entire Jamat including our multi-faith family members are invited to participate.
